Black Lake opens for fishing the fourth Saturday in April through October 31st. This small lake provides angling for planted rainbow trout, with largemouth bass and yellow perch more active as this shallow, weedy lake warms in the summer.

A primitive launch owned by the city is located on the northeast side of the lake. Limited shore access is available along Highway 101. The City of Illwaco Park has a boat dock and restroom facilities.
